A 32-year-old Cowra woman has been warned by Magistrate Michael O’Brien that if she appears before Cowra Local Court again, she will be placed in to full time custody.

Rachel Hood of Fitzroy Avenue was before the court charged with driving a motor vehicle during a disqualification period. She also faced a number of breached bonds.
According to police facts, Hood’s license was disqualified by Cowra Local Court on November 21, 2018 for six months. On December 15, 2018 police observed Hood driving a vehicle on Taragala Street. When police attempted to follow Hood, she sped off.
On December 19 police contacted Hood who admitted to driving on December 15.
Addressing the court, Hood’s solicitor, Clive Hill, said his client had was desperate to get her life back on track and knew she was nine-tenths of the way to jail.
In sentencing, Hood Magistrate O’Brien questioned how long the community would put up with her offending, referencing the court papers for her previous matters could print the white pages.
"You need to stand up to your demons, you stand here staring at the abyss of full time custody," he said.
"Efforts to help you rehabilitate have been met with resistance and every effort has been made to prevent the consequences of your actions from reaching you."
Hood was fined $300, disqualified from driving for six months and given a 12 month community corrections order.
Driver disqualified
A 36-year-old Wirrinya woman has been fined $300, disqualified from driving for three months and given a 12 month mandatory interlock order at Cowra Local Court on Wednesday, February 6.
Emma Eunice Gane of Mt Tallabung Road did not appear before the court charged with a mid range PCA.
According to police facts around 10.15pm on December 24, 2018, police observed Gane pull in to the Canowindra BP and began urinating.
Police spoke to Gane who told them they had caught her drink driving and she was on her way to pick up a friend from Billimari and needed petrol.
Police conducted a road side breath test which returned a positive reading, at the time Gane was travelling with two children in the vehicle.
A secondary breath analysis at the Canowindra Police station returned a reading of 0.142 grams of alcohol in 210 litres of breath.
