Carpenter, who has moved between NWSL stints for Portland and W-League commitments with Canberra in addition to Matilda’s representation, was excited to come back to her home town.
“It’s pretty special for me to go back to where it begun and to help coach kids to reach their dreams,” she said.
Featuring other W-League players in addition to Carpenter, and targeted players aged 5 to 16 years old, the morning session offers juniors a chance to learn from Australia’s best footballers.
The skills taught in the clinic will run the full gamut of training drills, with non-possession and defensive focused sessions to be provided.
“Different situations, different skills [will be covered], with the ball [and] without the ball,” Carpenter said.
Carpenter, who has had an exceptionally busy year, with 19 starts for Portland in the NWSL before returning to a regular start with Canberra United, is looking forward to a break, with the clinic coming during a small gap in her W-League commitments.
“It will be nice to come home and freshen up,” she said.
