Club president Glen Hudson said the club was pleased with the response to the first Sunday race day held last month which preceded the club hosting the first round of the Central West Interclub season, also on a Sunday.
The club has already welcomed some new members this season and hopes to see a few more old faces return to racing from 9am this Sunday.
While the club has introduced a longer format race for its more experienced competitors Hudson said there are still plenty of race options for the younger and less experienced athletes.
There is still a kids course which is a swim across the pool, a short ride and 400 metre run all within River Park.
A novice course for competitors looking for an introduction to the sport includes a 50 metre swim a 2km bike ride and an 800 metre run.
If athletes want to test themselves a bit more the club runs a 100 metre swim course followed by a 4.5km bike ride and finishing with a 1km run.
To assist club members wanting to race in major races throughout the state the club has this year introduced a Sprint distance race which involves a 400 metre swim an 18km bike ride and a 4km run.
Don’t forget to hang around at the end of racing for a free barbecue at the Cowra Aquatic Centre.
The cost to join the club is $25 per member - this amount covers the cost of all local races (Pool entry to be paid by competitors). Members will also be required to join Triathlon Australia.
