Simone Roe of Darling Avenue was before the court charged with driving while an illicit drug was present in her blood.
According to police facts, around 5.15pm on October 19, 2017, police stopped Roe in Brisbane Street for a random breath and drug test.
Her breath test returned a negative reading, however her oral fluid test returned a positive reading to meth.
A secondary test at Cowra Police Station also returned a positive reading to meth.
In relation to her drug taking, Roe told police she had smoked ice three days beforehand.
Roe’s solicitor Mr Song told the court she appreciated the court adjourning the matter previously so she could go to the traffic offenders program, however she was unable to attend the program.
Mr Song told the court that although this was a second offence, Roe had a limited record and was now on the waiting list for an in-hospital detox program.
Suspended licence
A 51-year-old Blayney man has been fined $100 and disqualified from driving for one month at Cowra Local Court.
Christopher Mel Whytcross of Meek Street, Blayney, was before the court charged with driving while his licence was suspended under s66 of the Fines Act.
Whytcross was convicted in his absence after he entered a written plea.
According to police facts, around 4.50pm on March 30, Cowra police were patrolling the Olympic Highway during the Easter long weekend for Operation Tortoise. During their patrol, the automatic number plate recognition system alerted them to a vehicle that was not registered.
Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the drive who admitted to the vehicle not being registered and his licence being suspended.
Whytcross told police at the time he had been stopped earlier at Crowther, however he did not want to leave his vehicle at Crowther, so was driving it to Cowra.
