Members of the Cowra Art Group are once again in action after a slow start to the year with groups operating as usual now that the schools are back and most members have returned home from holidays.
Following the very successful Art Group Christmas Party, the various groups also individually celebrated their year.
The Monday artists came together for a special Christmas lunch at Ilfracombe where artist Bernice Lavender gave a very interesting and informative talk about her life as an artist and her art practice.
The group is also pleased to welcome a new member for 2018.
Congratulations to the Quilters on their most successful and attractive exhibition of handiworks which was on display pre-Christmas in the Visitors Centre.
Members were pleased to receive a letter of appreciation from the co-ordinator who organises the distribution of the hand-knitted baby garments made by members, and from the two local High Schools who were the recipients of cultural donations from the Group.
Art Group representatives recently attended a very interesting and well prepared explanatory session conducted by the Cowra Shire Council on the possibility of a Virtual Museum for Cowra. Those attending found the concept very interesting.
The Cowra Art Group is taking part in Seniors Week again this year on Wednesday, April 4.
The next general meeting of the Cowra Art Group is being held on Tuesday, February 27 at 2 pm.
