Cowra is due to host Bathurst at Twigg Oval, with the Starr brothers returning to the representative side for the first time since linking with ACT club Queanbeyan.
The duo most recent game in Cowra was last season when they led Grenfell to a resounding Grinsted Cup victory.
That day, the brothers combined to take all of Cowra’s 10 wickets.
“The two Starr boys played very well against us in that Grinsted Cup game last season,” Cowra skipper Nick Berry said.
“It’s nice to see them comeback and enhance the standard of the premier league.
“It’s what the premier league should be all about. Providing cricketers in the region with a higher standard of the game.”
Cowra’s opponents this Sunday, Bathurst, have lost one match against Dubbo and escaped a scare against Orange, but Berry is wary.
“Bathurst won the last edition so, despite Dubbo dominating the Western Zone side, they’re in some ways the benchmark,” he said.
“They [Bathurst] will be good. But it’s about us just sticking to our game and pressuring them throughout the match.”
Cowra defeated Orange by eight-wickets in the opening round.
The team’s second match was drawn due to rain and the outlook for this Sunday isn’t great, with southern and central districts of NSW forecast to receive heavy rain on Friday and Saturday.
“It would be unfortunate [if it’s washed out] because I feel we’re in with a big chance,” Berry said.
