On Tuesday, May 23 the gates to their dairy farm Silvermere Holsteins, 21kms from Cowra, will be open as part of the project aimed at growing the NSW dairy industry.
The Thompsons moved from Narooma to Cowra in 2000 in search of more affordable land following the deregulation of the dairy industry.
They now milk 300 cows three times a day and have 280 young stock.
The day starts at 10am and will include presentations from the Thompson as well as NSW Farmers Special Counsel Matthew Waring, a farm tour and lunch. An update from NSW Farmers Association will also be given.
