Michael Kember and Taliah Lummow won the men’s and women’s Gifts respectively, marking a successful day for the Ramjet team.

Kember said he was stoked with his form throughout the day resulting in him edging out Bradley Jones and Jacob Knight in a speedy time of 11.94s.

“I’m very stoked. It hasn’t been the best week with training so to come out today and run those sort of times is unreal. I would have been happy to not win and run those times,” Kember said.

“A massive thank you to Roger Fabri. We have a great team.

The victory continues Kember’s quality record at Cowra having won in 2014 and finished second in 2015.

He says he’ll return next year, but turns his focus to the upcoming surf lifesaving state championships.

“I have surf life saving state championships in two weeks and then nationals on the beach in four. That’ll be it for the season,” he said,

“I love coming to Cowra. The towns so friendly I really love it out here and will be back next year and the years to come.”

Fifteen-year-old Taliah Lummow showed Cowra why she’s one of the most exciting sprinters in the state by smashing a quality field in the women’s final.

With a handicap of 13m, Lummow finished the 120m sprint in 13 seconds holding off Tiarna Mason and former Stawell Gift winner Davina Strauss.

Trainer Roger Fabri was at the track to witness both victories.
