Storms battered Central West NSW last week with more than 30mls of rain recorded in Cowra overnight.
Wild winds and hail stones caused widespread damage, with Parkes, Forbes and Young copping the worst of the battering.
The freak, flash storm also resulted in more than 4000 homes and businesses in Parkes to be without power for a number of hours and extensive damage to buildings.
Cowra businesses were a lot more lucky, with reports of only minor water damage to local businesses.
Cowra Bowling Club manager Bruce Oliver said that the rain and wind caused a leak in the roof above new renovations in the bar area.
“We are doing renovations on the roof, we’ve taken off the iron and put in tarpaulin and the wind picked it up, it’s Murphy’s Law, the rain comes when we take the iron off,” Mr Oliver said.
“No damage at all, just needed to get a carpet cleaner in the next day.”
