Damien Aubrey Perfrement appeared at Cowra Local Court before Magistrate Peter Dare, after being charged with the offence on September 17.
Facts tendered to the court reveal that Mr Perfrement has been abusive towards the victim for two decades.
He was charged after causing fear through verbal abuse and threatening to strike the victim between 9am on September 16 and 1pm on September 17.
Police were called to the accused’s residence on Philips Street where the victim appeared scared, shaking and almost crying.
Mr Perfrement was arrested after a statement was taken.
Six months suspension
Yass man Andrew Edward Hewlett, who has been suspended from driving for six months, will have an interlock device installed to his car for a duration of two years when he’s licence is restored.
An interlock device requires the defendant to breathe into the device before driving, but if they have a blood alcohol level exceeding 0.02 the vehicle will not start.
Magistrate Peter Dare made the order, along with issuing a section nine bond to be of good behaviour for 18 months, after Mr Hewlett pleaded guilty to mid-range drink driving at Cowra Local Court recently.
At 6.05pm at Yass, Police stopped Mr Hewlett to conduct a random breath test.
He stopped his car at a Service Station on Waroo Road and Comur Street.
According to facts, Police were made aware that Mr Hewlett’s last drink was only 10 minutes before he was stopped, so Police offered him five minutes to allow any alcohol in hi mouth to dissipate.
Mr Hewlett returned a positive reading of .144, registering his second similar offence within five years in the process.
He admitted to drinking four schooners and two stubbies of full strength beer between 11am and 5.50pm.
