Mid Lachlan Landcare will be providing one of five field trips for participants which will visit farms in the Mid Lachlan Landcare district. Mid Lachlan Landcare's Vanessa Cain said the field trips will cover a variety of topics.
"It will focus on capacity building, sustainable food production, and ecological function restoration and design of agricultural systems," she said.
"It will also provide information on how MLL is building links between urban communities and land managers, including talks on Growing the Grazing Revolution, providing educational tours for high school students, and delivering on-ground works for threatened species."
The Conference is being hosted by Landcare NSW and Central Tablelands Local Land Services, and is being coordinated in partnership with local Landcare and community groups and the Department of Primary Industries.
This conference is the premier event to showcase sustainability, Landcare and volunteering across NSW and includes the annual Landcare Muster and the NSW State Landcare Awards.
Around 300 people from Landcare and community groups, farmers, Aboriginal groups, industry and government representatives from across NSW and Australia will be attending.
The theme for the Conference is 'From the Ground Up' - Celebrating the International Year of Soil. Conference topics will focus on the environment and sustainable natural resource management and will include sustainable agriculture, community, building Landcare/succession and Governance.
On Tuesday, September 1, afternoon tea will be held in Canowindra at the Age of Fishes Museum.
