CONTRIBUTED

Second game for the year saw us on the road again to Orange to take on Barnsworth United. We started well with a large share of possession in the first 10 minutes however fell behind shortly after to a long range strike. The boys quickly responded through a fantastic strike also from long range by Mitchell Beer which found the bottom corner of the goal making the score 1-1. This was off the back of some fantastic passing from our defence and midfield. Cowra continued to create opportunities for the back end of the first half, and the pressure was rewarded when Ed Galea was brought down in the opposition penalty box resulting in a penalty kick which he then duly dispatched allowing Cowra to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.

Unfortunately, despite a strong showing in the first half, we were unable to reproduce that effort in the second half. It was a hard fort contest with numerous strong challenges from both sides especially in the second half. Both sides allowed frustrations to creep in to their games however each continued to create opportunities. It was Barnies however who were able to capitalise and convert their chances with the final score resulting in a 2-2 draw & the points shared.

Man of the match went to Mitchell Beer who was asked to fill in at left back and did a fantastic job along with scoring a brilliant goal. We now have the Easter long weekend bye and will look to get back to winning ways in our next outing.
