Some great games of bowls in the past week, all played in beautiful sunny and warm weather, that is great for bowls, but not so good for lawns, gardens and farms.

On Thursday Rob Oliver had a very close win over Sharen Hubber 150/148 in Consistency Singles.

Then on Saturday Leila Burns and Kak Smith had an impressive win over Dorcas Presnell and Russell Simpson 22/14 in the final of the Club Mixed Pairs.

Also on Saturday, we had two Men’s Pairs semi-final matches. In B Grade Bob Morgan and Steve Sculthorpe had a good win over Rob Oliver and Peter Lesueur 26/16 and in C Grade in an extremely hard-fought match, Dave McLoughlin and Dave Bohanna overcame the very determined pair of Brian Potts and Rob Watterston 17/15, after being required to play an extra end to decide the victors. Sunday, again a great day for bowls, saw us play the remaining three Consistency Singles matches, with Brayden Chew securing a close victory over Bob Morgan 150/141, Ian Walker having a 150/120 win over Laurie Chew and Rob Watterston going down to Steve Sculthorpe 150/98.
