Lamb numbers fell and quality was mostly good with the heavy and better trades generally well presented.
There were mainly trade and heavy lambs penned along with an increase in supply of store lambs. All the buyers were operating and competition was solid on the well finished lines. Light lambs to the processors sold from $130 to $150 while stores sold from $62 to $141/head with the shorn portion in good condition.
Medium and heavy trade weight lambs were firm to $3/head dearer and averaged 735c to 775c/kg cwt. Most heavy trade 23 to 24kg sold from $175 to $192/head.
Heavy weight lambs were $1 to $4/head cheaper and averaged 775c to 790c/kg cwt. Heavy weight lambs sold from $192 to $212 while extra heavy weights sold from $210 to $232.20/head.
Mutton numbers lifted and quality was mixed and prices eased $20 to $30/head. Heavy first cross ewes sold from $108 to $165 or 440c to 480c/kg cwt while heavy Merino ewes sold to $178/head.

Stock agent John Sullivan, of JJ Dresser said that "People have realised the autumn break isn't here, and are deciding to feed, or they're selling."
He added that while weather conditions had impacted the market, mutton prices had dropped and heavy lambs had remained firm.
