What was it that motivated you most to enter politics?
I was tired of the major two parties taking Calare for granted, either because they held it as a safe seat or didn’t think they could win it, either way because of that we haven’t had our fair share, the only way that changes is if Calare becomes a marginal seat.
What do you think people tend to misunderstand about politics in Calare?
The diversity of issues across the electorate, as you travel throughout the electorate, every town has its unique character, strengths and challenges, it is not like a inner city seat.
You're running as a Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party candidate, what does it mean for you to be a member of that party?
I take great pride in representing the Shooters Fishers and Farmers party, the party has proven through being in NSW parliament for 30 years that it can affect change and is more than just words but a party of action.
How will you work with other country MPs to influence change?
I will happily work with any other country member of parliament where both issues and potential solutions are shared.
What has your experience been in the community before running for Calare? How have you helped locals in the region?
I have largely helped farmers throughout Calare on an individual level through assisting in feral pest management on their properties and have often had them share their concerns on broader issues, I want to be able to take that knowledge and connection and help them on a larger scale.
What have you heard are the biggest issues for residents across Calare, and what will you do about them if elected?
Rural health service, and land use conflicts with renewables. I will be relentless in my pursuit and take every opportunity to raise these matters, and push for solutions so the people of Calare are no longer taken for granted.
What are your next steps going forward? How will you keep contributing to the community independent of an election result?
If unsuccessful I will keep raising these issues regardless and hold the successful candidate to account to ensure they deliver for the people of Calare.
