Cowra ANZAC Day March
A huge thank you goes out to the large number of students and staff who turned up to march at the Cowra community ANZAC Day Service held during the school holidays. Congratulations to our school leaders; Arabella Brooks, Burke Smith, Kate Montgomery and Will Berry who did a superb job laying the wreath at the cenotaph on behalf of Cowra Public School. Our school was well represented, and all students participated in the march with honour and respect. Our whole-school ANZAC Day Ceremony was held on Wednesday 30th April, for all students and staff and each class laid a specially made class wreath. Special thanks to Mrs Hamer, Mr Cooper, Mrs Tree and Miss Wightman for their organisation of this significant and very special event.
Brolga Dance Academy comes to CPS!
Today, CPS hosted a Primary Students Aboriginal Dance Workshop for students from schools around the Cowra District. This is a collaboration between Brolga Dance Academy and the NSW Department of Education Arts Unit, where selected Aboriginal students from Stage 3 participated in a full day of dance instruction. Our group was accompanied by our CPS Dance teacher, Miss Pokoney and we hope they had a fabulous time!
Operation Art at CPS!
This week, CPS will host Operation Art, which is an initiative of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in association with the NSW Department of Education. Children are taught by specialist art teachers and immersed in a full day of visual arts fun. Stage 1 students whose parents have registered for them to attend will go to Operation Art on Tuesday, Stage 2 on Wednesday, and Stage 3 on Thursday, and all groups will be accompanied by our Creative Arts teacher, Ms Hyde. We hope they enjoy the day!
