Brolga Dance Academy and Operation Art come to CPS!

Last week, Cowra PS was a “host” school for the Primary Aboriginal Dance Workshops run by the Brolga Dance Academy who are based in Redfern. 96 students, including 10 from CPS, travelled from across the Western area for a full day of dance instruction. The CPS group were accompanied by CPS Dance teacher, Miss Pokoney and they all had a fabulous time! Cowra PS were also the host school for Operation Art which is an initiative of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in association with the NSW Department of Education. Students are taught by a specialist art teacher and immersed in a full day of visual arts fun! Students who attended, gave Operation Art rave reviews, and took home a range of masterpieces, including clay sculptures, collage, printing and drawing. Huge thanks to Trevor from Operation Art for his expert instruction, and Miss Hyde for supervising each of the classes, and a special mention to all the students who attended and gave their very best efforts! Thank you to the NSW Department of Education Arts Unit for facilitating both of these amazing experiences for our students.
