Residents have been invited to help turn words into action, by providing feedback on the latest community engagement strategy by Cowra Council.
The council invited all residents to review and provide feedback on its draft Community Engagement Strategy 2025, now available for public exhibition.
Mayor Paul Smith said the draft strategy reflected an ongoing commitment to fostering a more inclusive, transparent, and collaborative relationship with the community.
“This strategy outlines how Council will engage with the Cowra community in shaping decisions that impact their lives,” he said.
“It’s built on principles of equity, accessibility, and active participation and now we want to hear from you.”
The strategy aimed to provide a framework in how council informs and connects with the community, by offering multiple platforms and forums for residents to understand and respond to what is happening at council.
“We want the final strategy to reflect the diverse needs and expectations of everyone across our Shire, whether you live in town, on a farm, or in one of our villages,” Mr Smith said.
“Your feedback is essential to shaping how Council communicates and collaborates with the community, so please tell us how you would like us to communicate with you.”
The draft strategy is available for review on Council’s website under ‘Public exhibition Council documents and policies’ and in hard copy at the Cowra Council customer service centre.
Community members are encouraged to submit feedback via email to council@cowra.nsw.go.au or post to Private Bag 342, 116 Kendal Street Cowra NSW 2794 by 4pm, Monday 2 June 2025.
