Led by Cowra’s Mayor Cr Paul Smith and with Cr Karren Cave, sponsored members of the Inner Wheel Club of Cowra walked 2km (and some more) by the Lachlan River to raise funds for their National Project, Cord Blood Research.
Since 2002 Inner Wheel Australia has been funding Grants to Australian researchers to use stem cells obtained from a mother‘s cord blood to help save lives. From treating leukaemia, to Juvenile Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis, stroke victims and neonatal babies, loved ones have been given another chance of life.
Our members would like to thank all those who so generously sponsored them - Cowra Rotary members, neighbours, family and friends.
Following the walk, we enjoyed morning tea at the home of Leslie and Ian Wright. Inner Wheel is about service and friendship. We support the needs of our communities, focusing on women and children.
Inner wheel Club of Cowra meets on the third Monday of every month at Club Cowra, 11 am. The next meeting will be held May 19th, 2025.
