The 71st Annual Cowra Eisteddfod commenced on 7th of May - with Speech & Drama Sections in the Auditorium at Club Cowra, running until Friday the 9th, with the $2500 Speech & Drama Scholarship being held on Friday afternoon in the 2pm Session. Session Tickets are $8 Adults & $4 Children - and can be purchased at the door.

On Monday 12th May the Eisteddfod will move to the Civic Centre for the start of the Instrumental sessions - which will run until Wednesday 14th.

This will include Piano for all ages, Percussion, Woodwind and Brass Instruments - including Bands. A new Trophy "The McLeish Family Perpetual Trophy" - donated by the family in the memory of Toby & Val McLeish - and will include $500 prize money.

Vocal Sections will commence on Thursday 15th May commencing with the 9am sessions. Several young local singers will be included in this session.

School Choirs will be held in the 10am session on Friday 16th - doors will open at 9:30 and tickets will be available at the door. Adults $8 Child $4. Season Tickets will be available for anyone who will be attending several sessions. These can be purchased at the door any session from 7th May.

Adult Vocal sessions will commence 7pm Friday 17th - through to Sunday Sunday 18th - which will include the 40yrs & over Entertainment - Farleigh Vocal Scholarship - and the Finals of the Patricia Fagan Operatic Aria. This will be a beautiful afternoon of entertainment - and will conclude with refreshments for the competitors and audience.

Great value for $8 Adult & $4 Child. Monday 19th May will be the start of two weeks of Dancing - through to Sunday 1st June. The first week, 19th to 23rd May will be for the younger performers from 5yrs through to 12yrs & under - in all styles of dance, including Ballet - Jazz - Modern - Contemporary - Acro - Hip Hop - & Tap. There will be 3 sessions each day commencing at 9am - 1:30pm & 6:30pm with Tickets available at the door.

Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th will be Dance Group Weekend - with 4 sessions each day. This weekend is booked seating and ticket will be available on the Civic Centre site from Friday 9th May. This is usually a busy weekend with 4 sessions each day to be able to stage all the competitors.

Sections for the 14yrs & Open dancers will commence on Tuesday 27th commencing at 9am - and will run through to 1:30pm session on Sunday 1st June.

The Ballet and Dance Scholarships valued at $2,500 each will be finalised on Sunday afternoon.

Tickets for all sessions (except Dance Group Weekend) will be available at the door each session Adults $8 Child $4. Programs for all disciplines are available at the Library - or at the Door - $6 each.

At the conclusion of the Eisteddfod there will be a Concert of Major Prize Winners at the Civic Centre - Friday 6th June at 7pm. Bookings will open Mid May.
