It was never going to be an easy task, defending 47, but Cowra did themselves no favours when they dropped a couple of opportunities in their Western Zone Premier League match against Orange on Sunday.

Sent in to bat first on a green top offering plenty for the bowlers, Cowra's batsman failed to adapt to the conditions with opener Jacob Millar the only Cowra player to reach double figures.
Millar's 12 was actually bettered by the 17 wides bowled by the Orange bowling attack.
Joining Millar on the scoresheet were only four others from the Cowra batting line-up with Darcy Callaghan out for seven, Kane Veney out for two and Tom Thaux dismissed for four.
Jackson McLeish remained not out seven.
Jacob McNaught, Isaac McFarland, S Carmody, Ben Houghton, Chris Day and Scott Gray were all dismissed for ducks.
Hugh Levievre was the destroyer for Orange, picking up four wickets.
Cowra started the match promisingly enough, giving no hint of the batting collapse that was to come, with openers Millar and Callaghan defending their wickets for nine overs before Millar was dismissed.
When Callaghan's wicket fell two overs later, the rot set in with Cowra all out in the 23rd over.
Cowra strike bowler Emerson Baratto, subbed in for Jackson McLeish, gave Cowra a sniff, taking the wickets of Tom Belmonte and Dave Neil before Hugh Middleton and Bailey Ferguson steered the visitors to victory.
Two catches were dropped with Orange still in the early 20s, before Ferguson and Middleton steadied the ship, the former bringing up the winning runs with a six.
