The Cowra local government area (LGA) recorded eight new cases of COVID up until 8pm on January 9, Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) has announced.

Cases have remained steady over the past two days in Cowra, with seven recorded to 8pm on January 8.
There were 18 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm on January 7, and 10 the day prior.
520 new cases were identified across WNSWLHD during the reporting period, including 220 in Bathurst, 94 in Orange and 87 in Dubbo.
The number of people in hospital across the district due to COVID has risen from 17 to 22 in the past 24 hours.
More than 90 per cent of Cowra's population over the age of 15 have had their first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccination.
