Coles' resident Elf on the 'Shelves', Cole, has gone missing, landing 'down, down' somewhere in the store and kids under 12 are invited to help the team find him.
Coles Cowra team member Nadia Cherry said each day in the lead up to Christmas Eve, Cole will be in a different spot across the store.
"Sometimes he will be doing something fun, sometimes he will just be hiding and the challenge for kids is to come and shop, seek the Elf, see what he's up to for today," she said.
"Once they've spotted him, they are not to touch him but they come to the service desk and the girls have a big tub of rewards so they can pick themselves a sweet treat for finding the Elf in our store.

"Lots and lots of customers are expected in the store over the next few weeks so we're just going to have some fun with it and get into the Christmas spirit."
She said the idea has been touted in stores across the region and comes off the back of the popular "Elf of the Shelf" tradition.
"In each store we have Team Member Circles, which are a group of team members that try to engage into the community a bit more and not just be checkout chicks and we just don't give you groceries," she said.
"[The Elf idea] came about during our regional Circle Team meetings and each store was given the opportunity to develop into their own ideas.
"We just wanted something free, something fun, something that the kids can come in store and get involved in... distract them while mum and dad are trying to shop."
Ms Cherry said the staff have enjoyed coming up with plans for Cole and his hiding spot.
"They're excited to bring their own ideas as to what we are going to do with Cole everyday," she said
"It's heaps of fun."
