As of October 3, 65.6 per cent of Cowra's population over the age of 15 was fully vaccinated.
In a sign that the 70 per cent full vaccination rate is within reach a number of local areas have reached a first-dose vaccination rate of more than 90 per cent with Cowra sitting at 92.1 per cent.
The Hilltops LGA (which includes Young and Boorowa) has a first-dose jab rate of 96.6 per cent, closely followed by Cootamundra-Gundagai and Hay both on 94.5 per cent, and Federation on 94.2.
In the Forbes Shire 90.1 per cent of the target population are first dose vaccinated and 67.8 per cent fully vaccinated.
Weddin Shire (Grenfell) has already reached the 70 per cent target for full vaccination at 70.2 per cent with 95 per cent receiving their first dose.
In Cabonne Shire (Canowindra) 89.6 per cent have received a first dose with 67.4 per cent of the population fully vaccinated.
