Questions were raised about Cowra's lockdown on Monday, with Ms Cooke confirming a seven day extension on social media.
"Having just finished a phone call with NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard, I can confirm that a decision to extend the stay-at-home orders for the Cowra LGA by an additional 7 days has been made tonight," Ms Cooke said.
"As with previous decisions, it has not made lightly, and is in response to the new cases in the Cowra LGA.
"Extending the lockdown was decided in order to protect the community and safeguard against further spread of COVID-19 across the township of Cowra, the wider LGA and the region more broadly."
Ms Cooke said while the announcement "is not a surprise to many", she acknowledged the difficult time for families during the school holidays and small businesses.
"I also acknowledge the impact this will have on small business owners and ask everyone locally to support our small businesses by using their "click and collect" option now as much as possible," she said.
"We can also start preparing Christmas shopping lists which will ensure our local business community bounces back quickly from this hard time.
"I remind businesses that there are many support packages available now, and if you reach out to our office the team will point you in the right direction.
"The stay-at-home rules will remain the same and I respectfully request that we all abide by them in order to protect you, your family and the whole community, particularly those most vulnerable."
