The station is set to be permanently staffed with a police officer residing at the station and working in Koorawatha and surrounding areas.
The small village has been without a permanent officer for about nine years.
According to police, the inside of the building has been refurbished and can be used by police in the area.
Works continue outside, however it is expected to be officially handed over to police next month.
"The inside of the police station has been refurbished and is able to be used by our staff as a station when they are in the area," Inspector Jacob Reeves, Officer in charge of Young sector, said.

"There are some remediation works to the outside of the station that will be done soon before they can officially hand over the job to us.
"The officer from Greenethorpe will be using Koorawatha Station regularly in the interim."
Inspector Reeves last month said having the station recommissioned was a big boost for the town.
"The town of Koorawatha will be happy to have a police officer back in town."
The position is being re-advertised.
