The 22-year-old folk music star is hoping to secure the opening spot for Jimmy Barnes' upcoming concert in Tullamore and is hoping his local community will get behind him again.
"I sent in a video application with a bio they then went through all the submissions and I was lucky enough to make it to the finals," Josh said.
"I'd be over the moon if I could get the opportunity to support Jimmy Barnes who I, like everyone, have been listening to for most of my life.
"He's a big Australian influence so I'm ecstatic about it. I'm just trying to keep calm and collected and see what the results bring in," he said.
Josh thanked everyone who had already supported him and said his recent experiences on The Voice and at the Sydney Folk Festival had been surreal.
"To everyone that's getting behind me, rallying, taking the time to fill out the form and vote for me, without your support over the years I wouldn't have gotten to where I am.
"It's up to me now to keep it interesting for them, to keep them involved and keep them wanting to support me.
"I don't try and get head swamped with 'can I provide enough to support Jimmy Barnes' - I have stories to tell and people have been listening to stories for years.

"Music is all about a story, whether you look at Jimmy's writing or Don Walkers writing it's always been about a story, a lot of my original content is based on my own story or other peoples' stories and experiences.
"That's what I want to be writing and I think I've tried to keep very true to that over the years.
"It doesn't matter where I go, who I meet or who I speak to I always try to keep fairly grounded and don't forget what I believe in," he said.
Voting is open now and closes Friday, September 27 at 5pm those wanting to vote for Josh can visit www.surveymonkey.com/r/KPYKQPV
