Danny Owen Parsons, of Killara Road, was convicted in the first instance for driving while his road license was suspended, with Magistrate Michael O'Brien issuing Parsons with a $500 fine plus disqualifying his driver's licence for three months.
Police discovered Parsons behind the wheel of a vehicle at around 10pm on Thursday, April 18, after noticing him heading north on Lachlan Street, Cowra, stopping his vehicle at the intersection of Lachlan and Comerford Street.
The on-duty officers initially were more concerned with the iridescent blue light that was emanating from Parson's vehicle, but once pulled over, identified that the local's licence was suspended, and that he was cognisant of that fact, having been notified of his suspension earlier in April.
In the second incident, Parsons was found guilty by the Magistrate of three separate charges: Riding an unregistered motorcycle, not being licensed or "exempted by statutory rules from being licensed" to drive said motorcycle as well as not wearing an appropriate helmet.
The court issued Parsons with three separate fines, totaling $500, for the incident, which took place slightly less than 36 hours after the first earlier offence.
Police were driving down Lachlan Street at around 9am on Saturday morning, April 20 and, while turning right onto Liverpool Street from Lachlan Street, before observing a man, later identified as Parsons, "riding a small Honda CRF80 motorcycle," according to the police report of the incident.
Parsons was driving along Liverpool Street at the time.
The report also noted that Parsons then rode "up the hill, along the footpath, before then riding across the intersection of Lachlan and Liverpool Streets," and was not seen to be "wearing an approved helmet".
Police then stopped the Parsons, identified him, and determined that he "has never held a motorcycle license in NSW," the report noted.
After picking up the motorcyclist, police also looked into the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) of the Honda, finding out that it too was unregistered for use on road.
Parsons was not in attendance at Cowra Local Court when his sentence was handed down by Magistrate O'Brien on Wednesday afternoon.
