“The Nationals can’t even get the water slides running at Wyangala Dam, I don’t have faith in them being able to deliver an increase in wall height of 10 metres. Their recent track record is abysmal. Let’s see them deliver new slides open seven days a week in summer first.
“With the contingencies built into the cost of their plan, if they did the job properly they should be able to deliver a new Police Station which was promised by Katrina Hodgkinson over 10 years ago. The local member could also stop petitioning her own government for a new hospital, if the Premier just came out and delivered it.
"Flood mitigation as well as water security are central to irrigated land along the river. We must be a food bowl for the future but if our towns become un-liveable due to lack of services, what is the point.
“The Nationals recent track record at Menindee and the draining of the lakes and death of millions of fish shows they are incapable of managing water.
“Our dam levels are dropping and like Wyangala, Burrinjuck is in the mid 30 percent level.
"Can the Nats confirm that on current rainfall predictions that the dam will ever fill?
“We support these sorts of projects but people wonder why they are sceptical of politicians when they announce a dam wall increase as part of their campaign launch just a month out from a State election when they have been in power 8 years," Mr Statdmiller said.
