The incident occurred about 5pm at the intersection of Brisbane Street and Kendal Street, when a driver of a vehicle waved the woman to cross as the traffic lights turned green.
A separate vehicle in a different lane accelerated and collided with the 27-year-old, who was thrown into the air and landed on the roadway.
Inspector Linda Bradbury of Orange Police said there’s nothing suspicious or illegal surrounding the circumstances of the incident, describing it as an “unfortunate” occurrence.
The injured woman also received soreness to her right arm.
The collision forced one of the vehicle’s rear vision mirrors to break.
