The Combined Clearing Sale for Cancer in Caragabal was looking uncertain due to the persistent dry weather and the resulting season uncertainty, but the event has been given the go-ahead with the welcome wet weather.
Event organiser Karen Pollock is excited.
“The clearing sale was the least of our concerns really when the rain just wouldn’t come … but now that it has, every farmer has a spring in their step and I’m really excited that we can go ahead as planned,” she said.
The clearing sale will take place on August 26, and machinery can be entered in the sale right up to the Wednesday before.
“This is a risk-free way for farmers to try to sell their machines … we pay for the advertising, and they only pay a small fee if their item sells,” Karen said.
Interested buyers can check out the machinery at www.32auctions.com/clearingsale with new machines being added every day.
“Come along to the Caragabal Golf Club on August 26 for a great day out,” Karen said.
“The auction starts at 12pm, and there is even a household goods auction at 9am in Quandialla raising funds for the same cause if you want to make a day of it.
“We will have a bar and canteen all day, and a small fee from every sale will be donated to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation, thanks to the generosity of Forbes Livestock and the other stock and station agents.
“The club will be open into the afternoon and night, with a meal and plenty of good company about.”
