
A Cowra driver was taken to Orange Hospital with head injuries on Friday morning after the truck he was driving overturned on the The Escort Way near the Parkes turnoff.

The truck, which is owned by a Cowra company, collided with a tree at 8.15am on Friday and was in the process of travelling west, hauling meat.
Police, paramedics, Rural Fire Service crews and a tow truck were dispatched to the scene.
Canobolas Local Area Command duty officer Chief Inspector Dave Harvey said the driver had suffered head injuries and was taken to Orange hospital for treatment.
Westbound traffic on The Escort Way was affected by the truck accident, with the westbound lane closed around 9am on the Friday.
The westbound lane remained closed for a number of hours, with motorists experiencing delays at the truck was salvaged after the accident
The road was then re-opened to traffic in both directions at 1.30pm on Friday afternoon.
