This year’s event is again sponsored by Picker Constructions. A big thank you must go to Ray for his continued support of the club championships at Cowra Golf Club. Sixty-three players took part for the first two rounds.
Saturday’s daily competition was sponsored by Ben Core Electrical.
A Grade Dave Howarth set the course alight with a nett score of 61. Dave’s round could have been even better leaving a putt a roll short on the 18th green for a nett 60.
In second place with a super score was David Thomas with a nett 62.
Third place was Leigh Browne with a nett 66.
In B Grade the scoring was tight with Darrell Coleman having a nett 68 beating out Joseph Glover and John Van Huizen with nett 69.

On Sunday players backed up for the second round of the championships. The scoring proved a little more difficult than Saturday. Sunday’s event was sponsored by our club professional Nathan Stubbs.
In A Grade Dave Thomas continued his great weekend form winning with a nett 68 with Dion McAlister hot on his heals with a nett 69.
In B Grade Jonathen Gee had the round of the day with a nett 64. Ted McAlister finished in second place with a nett 69.
Cowra Subway nearest to pins 5th Bradd Kennedy, 7th Gordon Willson, 14th Matthew Reed, 16th Hayden Smith.
Cowra Couriers Nearest to Pins 3rd Jarrod Harding, 10th Mick Curtale. After 36 Holes of the Club Championships Peter Kirwan holds a five shot lead over Jacob Moodie in A Grade with Ryan Howard and Leigh Browne a further one and two shots behind respectively.
David Thomas has taken command of the B Grade Championships. He is 13 shots in front of Chris Wilson. Jonathen Gee has had two steady rounds to be four shots clear of Darrell Coleman.
Saturday as they call it is moving day (third round of the tournament) and could prove very important for everyone in contention in this years event. The leading four players in each grade are seeded, hitting off just after 12pm.
