It was in recognition of some of the challenges for students in rural schools and the hardships that schools and students faced during the 2016 floods.
This initiative included a Mini Olympics Day, sporting equipment and free Teacher Professional Learning provided by the State Sport Unit.
Two special instructors conducted the Mini Olympics, Western Region School Sports Officer Trent Reynolds and David Telfer from Be Fit Be Skilled.
Only five Western Region Schools out of 200 were lucky enough to have had this opportunity.
Flags adorned our COLA, countries were announced and anthems were played.
Children held the flags high as they walked down our front entrance.
Izabella read the pledge, Lucius lit the cauldron. Wow what an opening ceremony! Then the games commenced. Despite the heat, we were able to complete enough games to really say we held the Olympics at Goolie.
