Dear Mr Kibbler,
I would like to thank you for hosting some of my staff during their visit to the Cowra Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre last week.
The opportunity for my state and regional managers, who come from all over the country and as far afield as Papua New Guinea, to get together occurs only infrequently and the benefit they all gained from the visit was enormous.
In particular, I should like to express my gratitude to Mr Justin Smith for taking my team around your beautiful gardens.
My managers are all experienced horticulturalists who take enormous pride in their work.
Since returning from Cowra each of them have mentioned to me just how wonderfully they gardens are presented and maintained.
The work Justin and his small team undertake is truly very impressive and reflects enormous credit upon you and the Japanese Garden.
Yours sincerely, Chris Appleton.
Mr Kibbler said that the Board of Directors are extremely proud of Justin and the garden staff who are committed to the project and collectively have served at the garden for around fifty years and it is very satisfying to receive such complements particularly from a man such as Brigadier Appleton. Cowra community can be justly proud of their garden which has become a significant icon in its own right and a major tourist attraction for NSW.
