Welcome rain of 117mm for the month came close to eclipsing the 138mm that was recorded from January 1 to May 31.
The bulk of the rain fell on June 2 - a total of 50.4mm - following on from just 22.2mm in May and 1mm in April.
That was the most amount of rain captured at Cowra Airport in a single June day and the highest monthly June total since 2004 at that location.
Across Cowra, it was the wettest June since 1945 and the eighth wettest since 1905, Bureau of Meteorology statistics show.
Rain fell on 20 of the 30 days in June, while in the 151 days before June, just 25 days had recorded any rainfall.
It has brought the yearly total to more than 255mm.
Wyangala Dam is currently sitting at 67 per cent.
