The Medical Centre is following the Department of Health guidelines with regard to the issuing of the flu vaccine to their patients.
Kendal Street Medical Centre Manager, Maryann Wood, said the Public Vaccine Centre/ Public Health Unit has not released the vaccinations to the practice as yet, and there are five age specific vaccines available free of charge under the government programs in 2019 for eligible people.
"We will let patients know as soon as the vaccines arrive at the practice and we are aiming for optimal coverage for our patients who choose to have the vaccine," she said.
The practice will also have private vaccines available for patients of all ages illegible for the government funded program.
It is important that patients receive the correct vaccine for their age and the timing of the vaccination is important.
Doctors and nurses will be in attendance at all clinics and will also be able to check patients immunisation status for vaccines such as pneumonia and shingles at the same time.
The practice is anticipating receiving the vaccines in late April and is looking to hold clinics during the first weeks of May.
Providing vaccinations are received by the practice the proposed clinic dates are as follows :
Saturday, May 4 - 7am - 12 midday (order of arrival no bookings necessary)
