The club’s latest upgrade includes construction of a new main bar with café, a new sports lounge and coffee lounge areas and a new gaming lounge and outdoor gaming terrace.
A separate club entry in Bartlett Avenue will also be added to provide direct access to the club’s function rooms from the club-owned motel.
Paynter Dixon has signed up local and regional trades and suppliers for much of the work.
Paynter Dixon’s Business Development Manager, Tony Fucile said Cowra Services Club and Paynter Dixon were keen to maximise local input into the project to help regional businesses and the local economy.
“To date we’ve been able to engage a range of trades and suppliers from Cowra and regional towns, including carpentry, electrical, bricklaying. fire services, air-conditioning, plumbing, steelwork and shed hire,” he said.
“Paynter Dixon is involved with many similar construction projects around the state and we always try to put on qualified and experienced local subcontractors and source our materials from local areas wherever possible.
“It’s a win-win all round to have local and regional trades and suppliers be part of our project team,” he said.
The current project is the next stage of the club’s vision to make the club more contemporary and appealing to members and their guests and to attract new patronage.
Mr Fucile said Paynter Dixon had many years of experience working with the hospitality industry and would be liaising closely with club management throughout the construction period to minimise disturbance to club patrons.
“The club’s facilities will continue to operate as normal and we are scheduling our work around the busy times so that we do not inconvenience staff and members.
“The new facilities will be opened in stages and the overall project is programmed to be completed prior to Christmas this year,” he said.
