There is currently so much to see at Cowra Regional Art Gallery.
Two local artists combine in Obsession to Create: painter Ann Morton and ceramicist Greg Daly celebrating the opening of an exhibition that will show until Sunday, 16 November.
For more than 30 years, these artists have been collaborating: Greg making ceramic vessels for Ann to include in her still life paintings.
Both are drawn to the Cowra landscape and atmospheric light, these elements appearing in Ann’s works and in the surfaces of Greg’s ceramics.
Ann’s still life paintings are rich in composition and alive with details from the lace tabletop on which sits Greg’s work filled with flora that creates a canvas of complexity. Her landscapes strive to capture the colour, light and mood of the land and sky.

Greg’s work draws upon light and interaction with the atmosphere and environment. He captures impressions of light through mist, rain, clouds, sunrise, sunset, dust, storms, heat and the moment as the sun goes down.
Also on show is Captives to Freedom Fighters: Indonesians in Cowra and Beyond.
The exhibition, open until Sunday, 16 November, traces the journey of Indonesian political prisoners from Boven-Digoel (formerly Dutch New Guinea) to Cowra, many of whom later became leaders in Indonesia's fight for independence.
Presented in partnership with the Cowra Breakout Association, the exhibition highlights culture and shared history helping shape enduring ties between Indonesia and Australia.
