Cowra may have just missed it, but that didn't stop any of the excitement of seeing central west neighbours blanketed on Sunday morning morning with what many described as the best snowfall in 30 years.

Just up the road in the higher parts of the Central Tablelands, Blayney, Carcoar, Orange, Lithgow, Oberon and places all received snow, but in Cowra, it fell as around 12mms of rainfall, steadily falling throughout the day.
Regional roads were affected by the snowfall throughout the morning, including the Great Western Highway in multiple places - between Orange and Molong, Orange to Bathurst and Bathurst to Lithgow, with police and emergency services helping to keep the roads safe and monitor conditions.
There was little respite throughout the day from the arctic blast for the higher parts; while late Sunday afternoon, Cowra had reached an almost near balmy eight degrees, Orange sat at just 1.3 degrees - with the wind chill factor making it feel like minus 3.6.
For Cowra at least, the rain and low temps are likely to continue, according to the Bureau, with an eighty per cent chance on the slopes. A Sheep Grazier's warning was expected to remain.
