Outside, a number of Cowra Shire Council vehicles were also siphoned of 300L of diesel fuel.
Working at the tip shop, Francis Woodbridge said the crew were resilient but the robbery was inconvenient for the crew, who work on a volunteer basis to support the Cowra community.
"Somebody knew where things were and what was happening," Francis said.
"They didn't do anything malicious, other than steal money and a couple of cans of drinks.
"They did take our gorilla trolley."
A new trolley will cost the Cowra Community Enterprise Centre between $150 and $200.
Staff use the trolley to serve customers and safely move heavy items.
"The crew were upset, they do it as volunteers. So having money taken really puts everyone off."
Asked if the incident had dampened the community spirit of the shop, Francis said "Cowra people can be pretty good, but there's an awful lot of petty crimes happening".
"When you steal from the Shire, you steal from every single person who contributes to the town as a whole. You're just stealing from yourselves too."
In a statement, NSW NSW Police urge anyone with any information, dash camera or security footage to contact Cowra Police on (02) 6341 5099 or crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
The incident is thought to have occurred between 4.30am and 7.30am on Sunday morning, April 28, 2024.
