With clear blue sky and in warm weather a field of 39 veteran golfers played the first nine holes at Cowra Golf Club on Thursday the 21st October 2021.

The golf course fairways and green were presented in ideal condition, but players faced the challenge having to play each shot from where the ball lay, with the preferred lies concession withdrawn, and the added challenge on some greens with pin placements set on steep sloping areas and close to the perimeter of the greens.
The event was closely contested, with Gary Dick with 18 stableford points winning on a count back from Colin Ridding and Bruce Amos who also came home with 18 points, just ahead of three other players one point in arrears.

The prize winners will have their Veteran's handicap reduced by three shots, other entrants will have their handicap increased by one shot.

The John Bland trophy Stableford event will be played over 18 holes, with Veterans playing off Golflink handicaps, this event is played in conjunction with the usual PRO COMP event.
The Veterans annual general meeting is to be held at 4pm at the Clubhouse, and which will include election of officers for the next 12 months
COWRA PRO COMP- 18 HOLE STABLEFORD EVENT:
The Cowra Golf Club's Golf Professional, Tom Perfect's, 18 hole stableford competition, open to all ages and run concurrently with the Veterans event, with 38 starters, including four visitors, being two from Blayney, and one from Wentworth G C Orange and Ballina.
Harold Bryant was the clear winner with 36 stableford points, closely followed by Ray Salisbury and Barry Reynolds each 35 points.

1st Harold Bryant 36 (stableford points).
2nd Ray Salisbury 35.
3rd Barry Reynolds 35.
4th Steve Johnstone 34.

NEW SUNDAY COMPETITION
A Sunday competition has been introduced (for all golfers) to the program at the Cowra Golf Club.
Tee of is from 10am with cost $20 per player.
This coming Sunday will again be an Individual Stableford.
Players must have an AGU handicap. Please report no later than 9.45am indicating your intention to play.
