The Cowra Services Snooker and Billiards Club has been without a home since January after the Cowra Services Club Board made a decision not to keep the club's billiards tables after its renovations.
Geoff Core who is a member of the Snooker and Billiards Club and has been a member of the Services Club for 47 years said the tables had been there as long as he can remember.
A spokesperson for the club to the Cowra Guardian the move was a business decision that had been relayed to the club by the Board of Directors.
"I don't know why they are raising it now," the spokesperson said.
"Realistically the snooker club folded 12 months ago, before the renovations started," the spokesperson said.
Mr Core said "The Cowra Services Club was formed by the efforts of a few dedicated returned servicemen who needed a place to meet with mates and family to have a drink," he said.
"They wanted to enjoy sport and recreation in a congenial atmosphere. Even in those early days, the centrepiece of the Services Club facilities was the three championship billiard tables.
"Numerous boards and managers have come and gone over the years but one thing that has remained constant is the retention of these tables.
"They have become part of the very fabric of the Cowra Services Club and the Cowra community," he said.
Mr Core said plans displayed in the club of proposed renovations clearly showed the two billiards tables in the new area and the Services Club board made the decision without consultation with members.
"Against the wishes of its own members, this mean-spirited board and management group have effectively taken a sport out of the town and replaced it with a gambling area," he said.
"Not only is this decision fundamentally wrong, it is also in direct contradiction of services club's constitution that states in the objects of the club (paragraph b page 8), that they are obliged to provide facilities for sport, games, amusement and recreation.
"The members are very disappointed in the way this decision has been made," he said.

Mr Core said the decision to remove the tables went ahead despite a petition signed by 146 Services Club members and assurances by the General Manager of the Services Club the tables would stay.
"This petition was never acknowledged as having been received, let alone considered by the board and management of the club," he said.
"There was not even the courtesy of a reply.
"The lack of respect for the many people who have made use of the tables over the years, the friendships that have been formed and the amount of money that has been brought into the club has been totally disregarded.
"We want this decision overturned," he said.
Mr Core said he was appealing to the community in Cowra and surrounds who recognised the value of a group like the Snooker and Billiards Club to make your views known as soon a possible.
