The combined Cowra-Canowindra team couldn't quite get the job done in the Westfund Ferguson Cup, with their first game in several weeks proving to be a difficult encounter as the Tri-Colours came away with a 41-17 win.

Nevertheless, while Elisha Kelly scored two tries' in the home team's victory, the Python-Eagles team didn't hesitate to put up a strong effort in their own right, with multiple try-scorers - Chelsea Amone, Monique Jenart and Mackenzie Devlin all made it over the line - helping to keep the Tri-Colours honest.
The Tri-Colours will try and win for a second week straight when they travel over to West Wyalong to take on the Redbacks.
Meanwhile, though finals are an unlikely prospect for Cowra-Canowindra, a team which came together only on the eve of the season, they'll look to try and finish their season on a strong note as they host a Narromine Gorillas outfit - who won 46-26 against Mudgee at home - this Saturday at the Cowra Rugby Grounds.
