With the anniversary taking place on Friday, September 6, the meet will follow on Sunday the eighth, as HRNSW confirmed during their announcement at the Cowra Showgrounds that the forthcoming event would be an "A Grade" event.
Consisting of eight races, including a $10,000 feature race, HRNSW is hoping that the other seven races will consist of $7000 prize money, beyond the minimum $6500 required for A Grade events.
HRNSW is also hopeful of a lucky draw for those who attend the meet later in the year, saying a trip to Queensland's Maroochydore, inclusive of flights and four nights' accommodation, is on the cards.
Cowra Harness Racing President Darryl Davis said the club was excited to be awarded with a bonus race.
"It's much appreciated, Cowra's a good little hub," Davis said.
"September will be a really good day."
The president also thanked HRNSW for helping to deliver the club the bonus meet, something that the club has been walking towards for a while.
"It's been a thing that we've wanted to do... a hundred years is a pretty good turn I think."
