Many people awoke to a frosty start on Wednesday after overnight temperatures plummeted to as low as -5.4 in one Central West location.
The coldest location overnight was Young with a chilly -5.4 degrees at 6.30am on Wednesday.
This was followed closely by Parkes where the mercury dipped to -4.8 degrees, Cowra (-4.5 degrees) and Forbes (-4.2).
It also dipped below zero in Orange (-3.6 degrees), Lithgow (-3.0) Bathurst (-2.6), Mudgee (-2.5) and Dubbo (-0.6).
There is the possibility of a little more rain across the region before spring comes.
While predictions are not for significant amounts of rain, Bathurst, Orange, Cowra and Young could receive up to 11 millimetres across Friday and Saturday.
Forbes and Oberon may also receive rain on Friday with up to 10mm predicted.
In Dubbo, Mudgee, Parkes and Wellington there is a slight chance of a shower on Friday only with up to 5mm of rain predicted.
