James P. Keady & Co recorded the highest lamb price ever recorded at Cowra saleyards at last Friday’s sheep and lamb sale.
James Keady said on Monday, a pen of 46 lambs owned by Leanne Hodges of “Bonnie Doon” Tygong made $280 per head at last Friday’s regular Sheep and Lamb market.
Mr Keady said the lambs were estimated at 34kgs dressed weight and with a $10 skin the lambs returned over $7.90 per kilo dressed weight.
Local lamb buyer Glen Peterson representing Thomas Food Industries was the successful purchaser.
Craige Oliver auctioneer for James P. Keady & Co said they were magnificent bred lambs and given the season they were a credit to the vendor.
