More than 30 kids from Carinya Early Childhood Centre took part in transition day on Thursday at Mulyan Public School, an annual event to help children make the jump from preschool to primary school.
The visit included a tour of the library, canteen, classrooms and playground.
Mulyan Public School assistant principal Beatrice Murray said it’s an important day to host.
“Today’s about getting the kids in a big school environment so they know what it’s going to be like next year,” Beatrice Murray said.
“We love them coming to our school and doing transition visits to help them adjust to big school when they do get here.”
The kids were treated to an apple slinky at the canteen then enjoyed listening to Ms Murray read the children’s book This & That by Mem Fox and Judy Horacek.
The visit wrapped up with an arts and crafts lesson.
