Cowra pistol shooter Matt Seears collected a massive six winner’s medals at the recent 100m Small Bore and Field Pistol National Championships.

Seears claimed the major awards in both the small bore and field pistol categories at the championships at Inverell running from March 2 to March 4. In total, he secured four individual titles and had two NSW team triumphs.
Seears finished with an aggregate of 140 points in the 100m small bore after putting up scores of 39 in the production, 37 with the revolver, 25 while standing and 39 in the unlimited class.
His score of 140 was two points better than Muswellbrook’s Iain Yule and Glen Anderson of Inverell who both finished on 138.
In the field pistol category, Seears finished on 67 points which was four points clear of Yule who against ran second on 63 points.
Scott Dawson of Toogoolawah also registered 63 points.
Seears recorded scores of 35 in the production and and 32 at any sight.
Seears and Kim Emery combined to give NSW victory in the Open Teams 100m Small Bore national championships, and he teamed up with Iain Yule to win the Open Teams Field Pistol Australian title.
