The 2017 Len Bird Cowra Gold Cup was taken out by Keith Beddie with an outstanding score of 369/375 over the two days of competition on Saturday and Sunday, August 5 and 6.

Keith was shooting against a class field of 131 competitors from all around NSW amd interstate.
The number of shooters competing is testament to the local club’s commitment to providing top notch facilities coupled with an excellent program of events.
The organisation and smooth running of this major event keeps drawing a large contingent of top clay target shooters.
Both days of competition provided varying weather conditions challenging competitors, but good scores were posted across all events.
Single barrel championship
The Telescope Tyres and Batteries 50 target single barrel championship was won by Tony O’Leary from Cowra with 50/50.
Double barrel championship
The Cowra Services Club double barrel championship was taken out by John Wason from West Wyalong with 121/121.
Pointscore championship
Sunday’s competition started with the Cowra Diesel Service pointscore championship which was won by Keith Beddie from Goulburn with 150/150.
Double barrel championship
The Railway Hotel Cowra 50 target double barrel championship went to Anthony Bartolo from Sydney after a shoot-off with a score of 165/165.
Volunteers
The office staff and ladies in the kitchen again excelled in processing everyone’s needs in an efficient and orderly manner with the addition of Cliff on the Coffee Machine – a much appreciated and wonderful initiative.
Our volunteers before, during and after the event did a fantastic job well done to all.
The shooters and their families enjoyed the weekend in Cowra, boosting the local economy whilst in town, and particularly enjoyed a friendly meal on Saturday night at the Railway Hotel - one of our major sponsors.
